100% Class A vineyards (the highest classification in the Douro Demarcated Region). Field blend of 20+ varieties in the Old Vines, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz are predominant in the younger parcels. All vineyards are grown in certified “produção integrada”, seeking to minimize negative impacts on the environment.
Grapes transported in 20 kg cases. Mechanical crushing with partial destemming. Fermentation in lagar with mechanical treading. Indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tank. Aging in tank and in new and used French oak barrels. Estate Bottled, without fining nor filtering, on July 31, 2015, 2’670 bottles and 180 magnums, all numbered.
This Quinta do Infantado Reserva 2012 red can be enjoyed now. Put the bottle upright two hours before opening. Service temperature 16ºC to 17ºC. In ideal cellar conditions, 70% humidity and 12º C to 14º C, and for those who like wines matured in the bottle, it can still be stored for a few more years.
Balanced and elegant red Douro wines, such as this Quinta do Infantado Reserva 2012 red, are excellent at table with a wide variety of preparations. Kid rice is one of the classics.
