In 2004, Quinta do Infantado launched a very special wine in the history of the estate: Late Bottled Vintage 2000. In addition to the symbolism of the year 2000, a new millennium!, two other facts marked this event: celebrating 25 years since the first estate-bottled Portos and a special label designed by the architect Álvaro Siza Vieira (the first label the Master ever created for a wine!). The celebration of the Douro included, of course, gastronomy, by chef Hélio Loureiro who cooked: stewed Octopus in red wine for Quinta do Infantado Douro DOC 2002 and Almond cake with Chocolate and Vanilla sauce for Quinta do Infantado LBV Porto 2000.
The celebration took place in Porto and, in addition to the flavors and aromas, Álvaro Siza, Luis Roseira and Gaspar Martins Pereira moved the guests with memories and evocations of the Douro, its landscapes, people and wines.
